We offer for sale this sublime LIP Nautic Ski dating from 1965!The LIP Nautic Ski is a very special model that is easily recognizable. In fact, this model is one of the rare pieces that are part of the pre-production phase of the LIP factory. Fred Lipmann, who was the head of the LIP company at the time, used to equip his friends, family and some industry managers with prototypes in the final phase before launching production! This technique allowed him to collect opinions, positive and negative points to refine his product before the final production phase.

A bit of history...
The LIP Nautic Ski watch is an iconic French diver's watch that was introduced in 1967 for the centenary of the LIP manufacture. It was the first French watch to be water-resistant to 200 meters, making it a very capable diver's watch at the time.
The Nautic Ski was designed to be a rugged and reliable watch that could withstand the rigors of scuba diving. It featured a stainless steel case, scratch-resistant mineral crystal, and an internal rotating bezel. The dial was black with luminescent numerals and hour markers for optimum visibility in the dark.
The Nautic Ski was an immediate commercial success, and was quickly adopted by professional and amateur divers around the world. It was the official watch of the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble, and it appeared in many films and television series of the time.
Production of the Nautic Ski ceased in 1981, but it was revived in 2012 by the new LIP company. The new Nautic Ski is faithful to the original, with a similar design and features. It is available in a variety of colors and finishes, and has become a popular collector's watch...
