YEMA Submarine "Broken Face"

Some information about this YEMA Submarine:

  • Contents: Watch with its strap
  • Movement type: Mechanical
  • Caliber: NC
  • Revision: No - Timekeeping ok over 24 hours - Revision recommended
  • Dimensions: 34mm excluding crown
  • Date: Around 1950
  • Reference: 384977
  • Overall condition: Discover our first "Gueule Cassée"! A Gueule Cassée at DropAndWatch, what is it? It's simple! It is a watch that will not be in its best aesthetic condition, a watch that bears the stigmata of its life, of its history! It is a watch to which we will have restored its few letters of nobility while letting its aesthetic defects appear! Here the glass has been replaced by one of our partner watchmakers, a cosmetic cleaning of the case and we have equipped it with a black strap recovered from another watch. Concerning the mechanism, it will be recommended for the future purchaser because we are not aware of the last revision done. On the other hand, we note that this watch is perfectly functional and ensures correct timekeeping (tested over 24 hours). The date function at 3 o'clock is also functional. The crown is the original one, damaged but functional. The bottom is the original one in good condition. Its dial is in superb condition, almost intact, only showing a very small mark above the second hand. The case is marked by time and has lost its initial plating... but that's what we love for a Gueule Cassée! Also note a lack of material on the sides visible in the photos. A bottom seal is present to obstruct this lack, do not plan to dive with your Submarine, it will not resist it!

How to set your watch?

  • Hand-wound mechanical movements :

A mechanical movement is wound daily using the crown of your watch. Wind your watch without forcing the stop in the case of a complete winding.

  • Automatic movements :

An automatic movement will find its energy through the movements of your wrist. So you only have to wear your watch to ensure its operation.

We strongly recommend that you set the time first and then wind your watch before wearing it on your wrist. Avoid setting the time between 9pm and 3am as much as possible, which is when the date changes.

  • Quartz movements:

You don't need to do anything to keep it running. If your watch stops, we recommend that you have the battery changed by a watchmaker who will recommend the battery best suited to your watch's mechanism.

1 year* parts and labor warranty

All parts serviced by us or not are guaranteed against abnormal wear and/or abnormal malfunction for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase.
